Job Duties:

• Assists customers with selection and purchases, ensuring the highest level of customer service.
• Operates electronic cash register, handles cash, charge and check transactions.
• Prepares cash drawers and related paperwork as assigned, as well as banking deposits.
• Receives, prepares, sorts, prices, and rotates stock for retail floor and conducts quality control.
• Operates department equipment and machinery, prepares goods for sale, procession, or storage.
• Performs inventories and tallies.
• Assists customers with donations, provides receipt. Includes assisting with removal of donations from customer vehicle.
• Conducts general housekeeping functions, such as vacuuming, sweeping outside areas, dusting, and rest room maintenance.
• Assists services staff with implementation of work plans and guidelines as established for client programs, as assigned by store or branch manager.
• Works a variety of shifts including evenings and/or weekends as assigned.
• Must set an example of working at a fast pace and show the ability to lead the team in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager.
• Acts as PIC if all other managers, supervisors, and leads are not present.
• Trains and may mentor new employees.
• Assists or oversees production, product rotation, and seasonal changeovers.
• Provides exceptional customer service. Assists customers with special customer service situations.
• Processes customer voids, returns, and exchanges.
• Opens store for business.
  • Disables security alarms. Turns on lights.
  • Counts tills and safe monies and prepares registers for cashiers.
  • Completes and organizes daily reports, forms, and other paperwork.
• Closes store at end of day
  • Accurately closes out and counts registers.
  • Accurately prepares deposit for banking.
  • Accurately completes and organizes end of day reports, forms, and other paperwork.
  • Enables security alarms, turns off lights, secures safe and locks doors.

• Exercise judgment, resourcefulness, ingenuity, and initiative. Technical skills include a good understanding of and ability to operate a variety of departmental equipment.
• Efficiently perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Able to work at usually hectic pace with irregular short deadlines and limited number of critical or unusual situations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience that would lend itself to good customer service highly desirable.
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Exercise judgment, resourcefulness, ingenuity, and initiative.
• Ability to operate retail equipment, including register, telephone, fax and copy machine.
